About the Journal

On September 18, 1999, a new publication was represented to the musical community of our republic on "Music day of Uzeyir".
It was the scientific-pedagogical, critical-publicistic and cultural-educational music journal "Musigi Dunyasi", based on the program "The Azeri music on the third millenium", which published in Azeri as well as in Russian and English. The journal was drafted by means of compilation, made by Azerbaijan Community of Composers, Baku Musical Academy and "Koroglu-T" company.
The composition of the editor staff includes the national art workes, doctors of science and philosophy, the professors and honoured scientific and art figures. The Editor-in-chief and publisher of the journal is Tariyel Mammadov, an honoured art figure, doctor of study of art and professor.
The journal "Musigi Dunyasi", started being published at the beginning of XXIth century, became the real tribune for scientific, cultural and art figures and established the world full of music by carrying out the mission appropriate to its name for all the people. The Internet version also operates and ensures conditions for expansion of the auditory of the readers in addition to the printed version of the journal. Over the last years, the broadcasting radio-journal "Musigi Dunyasi" on air ensures conditions for delivering achievements of science of music and culture to millions of the listeners.
Nowadays, the journal consisting of the scientific-pedagogical, critical-publicistic and cultural-educational aspects, plays an important role in making intercultural dialog in the world virtual sphere, established by the globalization period, raising up the level of Azeri music to the third century, preserving and propagating legacy of the national music, revealing the actual problems of musicology, paying attention to the issues, relating to the modern musical education, inclusion of the legacy of Azeri music in the world internet and the national-cultural field and "Musigi Dunyasi" of our country while carrying out the mission, regarding to establishment of the international relations.
It should be noted, that one of the main directions of operations carried out by the journal "Musigi Dunyasi" is preserving non-material resources of Azerbaijan and delivering them to the further generations, propagandization of the national music treasure in the world. For that purpose, the projects "Singers of Garabag" (including the albom, presented in four languages and 24 CD discs) drafted under the leadership of Mehriban Aliyeva, The President of the Fund named after Haydar Aliyev, The Fund of Friends of Azerbaijan Culture, a Goodwill ambassador of UNESCO and ISESKO and deputy, "Encyclopedia of Mugam" should be particularly emphasized among the taken measures. These publications and electronic versions that implement the purposes for reviving Azeri Mugam and its propagandization in the world are the abundant sources for reviving prominent figures of the Azeri mugam world and unique performances.
The Web-sites "Gara Garayev", "Uzeyir Hajibeyli", "Afrasiyab Badalbeyli", "Shamsi Badalbeyli", "Ilyas Efendiyev", "Rasul Rza", "Khan Shushinski" established by support of The Ministry of Culture anr Tourism of Azerbaijan, The Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies, include in the line of the memorial sites.
The Establishment of "virtual museums", which take special place in the Siteography, is firstly engagement in propaganda for our culture, science, legacy and national dignity in itself.
The electronic resources, prepared by this journal on the basis of "Leyli and Majnun", "If Not That One, Then This One", "Arshin mal alan", wholly service for representation of Azerbaijan literary as integral part of legacy of the world literary map and engagement in propaganda for its science for this sense.
"Basis of Azeri people's music" (Baku, 2010), "Karaoke. Azeri people's songs and classic romances" (Baku, 2010), "Hundred poems of hundred poets" (Baku, 2010),"50 songs of Azeri composers" (Baku, 2011), "We learn Azeri" (Baku, 2012), "Explanatory dictionary of Mugam" (Baku, 2013) and other prose works take into consideration of teaching mugams being as source of knowledge and practice of previous generations both by the texts, and the sound format by computer technology.
The other type of sites is wholly service for reverberation of Azerbaijan moral-culture. The site "Atlas of Azerbaijan traditional music" by preserving folklore of the little-number people, living in the territory of our republic, site "Azerbaijan discography" by preserving the sound recording of the singers, living at the beginning of XXIth century, in the vinyl discs of gramophone records and the sites of "Alive voices of Azerbaijan history" and "Azerbaijan Legacy of Epistolary" by preserving the sound recordings and letters of Azerbaijan prominent persons-state, scientific, cultural and art figures, labor and war heroes provide services for immortalization of historical memory.
Providing the information in three languages (Azeri, Russian and English) in the web-sites ensures the facilities to expand the auditory of sites, i.e Internet users from any parts of the world could get any detailed information on Azeri music and culture by these sites.
The electronic publication centre of journal "Musigi Dunyasi" has been awarded many times with the diplomas and rewards for the establishment of the electronic web-sites and services, made in the development of Azerbaijan Internet Culture. "Azerbaijan E-content - 2005" reward, "İntellekt - 2005", "AWARD - 2007" reward, "HUMAY - 2007" National Reward, "NETTY" rewards of National Internet Contests (2006, 2007, 2008), special diploma awarded in the contest I "The best book for communication sciences and education" (2007), held in Russia, should be specially noted among those rewards.
